Greater Western Water launches new community grants and sponsorship program
4 October 2022
Greater Western Water (GWW) has launched a new community grants and sponsorship program that will see an unprecedented investment in local projects, events and activities that bring people together and help make the region a great place to live.
Throughout October 2022, local organisations and community groups are invited to apply for funding through GWW’s new Thriving Communities grants and sponsorship program.
The new program aims to support more community groups across GWW’s service area to succeed and create more opportunities for people to participate.
Funding will be available through three different programs; local community sponsorships up to $5,000, community grants up to $20,000 and strategic community sponsorships up to $75,000 over three years.
General Manager, Strategy & Partnerships, Kessia Thomson said as a large employer and provider of essential services, GWW plays an important leadership role in helping communities thrive.
“Our Thriving Communities program comes off the back of GWW’s milestone 2030 Strategy which outlined a commitment to seeing people and country thrive over the next decade,” she said.
“Our service area is diverse, vibrant and growing. Giving people the opportunity to get involved in the region and to feel a sense of belonging is more important than ever.
“Supporting local initiatives through grants and sponsorships is one way we can help empower and bring people together which will ultimately see the region prosper.”
Ms Thomson said each funding category has clear criteria and aims to support projects that are locally led and deliver a clear community benefit.
“Whether it be an inclusive opportunity for people to gather and celebrate, a research project helping local industry to thrive, or a partnership supporting liveability and wellbeing, we want to collaborate with our communities to help them achieve their potential,” she said.
Applications are open from 1 October until 31 October 2022.
