Reservoirs and waterways
We supply water to you from local reservoirs and Melbourne's water supply.
Having access to a number of sources ensures we can meet demand, cater for a growing population and manage water supplies when inflows are low.
Melbourne Water
Melbourne Water is responsible for harvesting, storing and treating water before it arrives in our system from the following reservoirs:
- Silvan
- Greenvale
- Sugarloaf.

Merrimu Reservoir
Located between Bacchus Marsh and Toolern Vale, Merrimu Reservoir supplies water to the Bacchus Marsh area.
Merrimu Reservoir is also open for limited recreational use. For more information, visit the Southern Rural Water website
Rosslynne Reservoir
Rosslynne Reservoir supplies water to the Sunbury and Macedon Ranges area, and is located near Gisborne. Southern Rural Water also provides irrigation water from the reservoir to river diverters along the Maribyrnong River.

Pykes Creek Reservoir
Pykes Creek Reservoir is located between Ballan and Myrniong. Water from here is used by farmers in the Bacchus Marsh and Werribee Irrigation Districts. We also treat water from the reservoir and supply it to residents in Myrniong.
