The Victorian Government’s WaterSmart program helps businesses become more water efficient.
We are partnering with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) to help our business customers use water wisely.
Population growth and the changing climate are putting pressure on our water supply. We need to work together to build sustainable water-use practices that support our growing community.
Install a digital monitoring device to record your site’s water use and help identify leaks. You will be provided with data loggers to monitor water meters and access to an online portal to track your water use (via VicFacilities).
Water audits
A detailed water efficiency audit will show you how to save water across your site and identify upgrades you can make to your equipment and fixtures.
How will my business benefit?
By joining the WaterSmart program businesses will:
identify opportunities to save water
make informed decisions around efficient water use
save money on their water bills
avoid costly incidents and repairs by identifying leaks early
show their customers and stakeholders that they are sustainability focused.
Is my business eligible?
At this time, participation is by invitation only. We will invite selected high water-use customers to take part in digital monitoring or water audits.
High water-use customers are those that:
use an average of more than 10 mega litres per year
