Some customer bills have been delayed by technical issues. You will have four months to pay any late bill. You don’t need to do anything. Find out more.
If you're a plumber called out to fix a blocked sewer, you need to first identify where the blockage is.
If the blockage is in the pipework between the internal sewer house connection and the 27A, then it's the property owner's responsibility.
If it’s in the pipework from the 27A to the sewer main, then it’s within our service network and our maintenance team will fix it.
Determine where the blockage is
If the inspection shaft is full or holding water, that means the blockage is within our service network.
Do not do any work on the blockage. Call our Faults and Emergencies team on 13 44 99 and we'll send one of our network crews or accredited contractors to fix it.
Your customer may be eligible for reimbursement of your fee.
If there is no water in the inspection shaft, then the issue is the property owner’s responsibility and you can proceed.
Locating sewer pipes
An internal property sewerage plan shows where our sewerage system and assets are located at any property in our service area.
You should never do any work on the Greater Western Water service network.
Under the Water Act 1989 and the Road Management Act 2004, it’s illegal to work on, enter, tamper with or damage Greater Western Water assets. This includes building over, or removing cover and support of our assets without written consent.
If damage is caused to our assets, contact our Faults and Emergencies team on 13 44 99.
