We are regularly working on future-proofing your water and waste services.

We are working on a number of major projects to ensure we deliver reliable water and sewer services now and in the future. This includes:

projects to supply drinking water to our communities
renewing water mains and sewers
developing alternative water sources through treated recycled water or stormwater schemes.

Key projects

Name	Description
Gisborne Recycled Water Plant upgrade	We're upgrading the Gisborne Recycled Water Plant. This will help meet the needs of the growing community in Gisborne and the surrounding area.
Romsey Recycled Water Plant upgrade	We’re increasing the Romsey Recycled Water Plant's capacity by adding more treatment lagoons and storage.
Western Irrigation Network (WIN)	A major recycled water irrigation scheme providing a new, secure source of water for agriculture in Melbourne’s outer west. Recycled water will be used to irrigate farmland in the Parwan-Balliang agricultural district.
Royal Parade water main upgrade	We’re upgrading the network of pipes under Royal Parade to ensure the reliability of the city's water network for generations to come.
Elizabeth Street sewer upgrade	We’re upgrading the Elizabeth Street sewer so we can continue to deliver a safe and reliable sewer service to Melbourne’s CBD.
