Water supply change in Bacchus Marsh, Darley, Maddingley and Parwan
We wanted to let you know about two upcoming changes to the water supply in Bacchus Marsh, Darley, Maddingley and Parwan as we carry out some scheduled maintenance.
Update: 4 November
On Wednesday 6 November, we’ll temporarily switch your water source to Melbourne’s supply to complete scheduled maintenance at the Merrimu Water Filtration Plant.
This change will last about two days, with your usual local supply returning by Thursday 8 November.
You might notice a slight difference in taste or smell, but rest assured, the water is safe to drink and use as always.
21 October
The first change is happening from Monday 21 October, when we’ll temporarily switch your water source from Merrimu Reservoir to the Melbourne supply system. This is so we can do some maintenance on the Merrimu Water Filtration Plant (WFP). The switch should only last 2-3 days, with a return to your local supply by Thursday 24 October.
A second switch from local to Melbourne supply will be needed in early November for some more maintenance at the plant. This one should take around two days and we’ll confirm the exact dates closer to the time.
We rely on different water sources to supply our service area, whether it’s high demand or maintenance work. Sometimes switching sources means the water might taste or smell a little different but it’s safe to drink and use as always.
