Our first Community Engagement Framework reflects what is important to our community – thanks to input from a diverse range of people.
Our ambition is to involve community in the way we work so that we can make better decisions together.
Over four weeks in October-November 2021, we reached out across our service area to ask our community to have their say on our Draft Community Engagement Framework - to share their thoughts on the way we connect with them and hear their voices.
More than 1,100 people accessed the YourSay website which provided a range of options for people to have their say. We received over 90 responses from community members who shared their thoughts, experiences and aspirations. Those contributions helped us understand what people value and what they expect from us. As a result, we now have a Community Engagement Framework that reflects what’s important to our community.
The framework gives us the foundations to involve our diverse community in shaping our future. It describes what community engagement means to Greater Western Water, who we engage with and how. It sets out clear principles and steps that guide the way we engage, include community input and improve our processes.
If you’d like to see how we reached out to community for their views and a summary of the feedback we received, you can view our Closing the loop report..
