Greater Western Water is changing the water supply in Woodend to meet growing demand.
Currently, Woodend is supplied with water from several reservoirs across the Macedon Ranges. On Tuesday 4 February, we’ll add water from Rosslynne Reservoir to the supply, alongside these existing sources.
We use different water sources to ensure a reliable supply for our customers. This helps us meet the water needs of our service region’s growing population, especially during summer when demand is higher.
Water can sometimes have a slightly different taste or smell depending on where it’s sourced from. The change in taste and odour is caused by different water treatment processes used across our network to meet required drinking water quality standards.
If you notice a change at the tap, it's nothing to be concerned by – your water is safe to drink and use as normal.

We email customers to let them know when we’re changing their water supply. To stay informed, please update your contact details.
