Greater Western Water launches a new round of Thriving Communities grants and sponsorship.
8 March 2023
Greater Western Water (GWW) has announced the next round of applications for Thriving Communities, a grants and sponsorship program dedicated to helping people connect and making the region a great place to live.
From 9 March to 6 April 2023, local organisations and community groups are invited to apply for funding through two different programs; local community sponsorships up to $5,000 and community grants up to $20,000.
General Manager, Strategy and Partnerships, Kessia Thompson said following the success of the inaugural funding round, with $125,000 awarded to 16 organisations, GWW was excited to see what the next round would hold.
“We've already seen some of the recipients from last year kick off their projects encouraging everything from connection, learning and celebration, to wellbeing of People and Country.
“In 2023, we want to build on that success. Applicants may have projects with a focus on equity, opportunity or inclusivity or they might be dedicated to helping the environment, individuals or industry to thrive,” she said.
Ms Thompson pointed to the Little Book of Resilient Riddell led by the Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House as an example of a project that GWW were proud to support.
“The initiative will explore how the town would survive and thrive following adversity. It will see collaboration across the community with groups including Cool Change, Scribes and Scribblers, the Riddell Roundup and the local Primary school come together to bring the book to fruition.
“As a result of this project, the township will have increased capacity to organise, coordinate and respond to adversity in the future,” she said.

Applications are open from 9 March until 6 April 2023.
